Buddhist Art is considered to be 60,000 years old and goes back through time to Shamanic origins
throughout Asia. In the East, paintings are considered transmitions, an unbroken line from ancient
times to the present. The individual artist as well as individual creativity is unimportant, and the
Dieties are beautiful in their own light and transmit spiritual or religious energies. I want to
appreciate and pay tribute to all the artists over centuries that have contributed to this rich
tradition. I have created many modern images in this sacred tradition, and it would be
impossible without drawing from many of the great Buddhist painters.
